Position Summary:
The University of Northern Colorado School of Music invites applications for a full-time, contract renewable appointment as applied cello faculty member. The rank depends on qualifications and experience. The successful applicant will teach undergraduate and graduate cello lessons, studio class, and chamber music. Other assignments will depend on interest, experience and program needs. The School of Music is especially interested in candidates whose teaching experience, programming, and curricular approaches will support and contribute to the growing diversity of our academic community; individuals from underrepresented groups, and/or with experience teaching and recruiting students from diverse backgrounds, are especially encouraged to apply.
Job Duties:

Minimum Qualifications:
ABD in Cello Performance or commensurate professional experience
One year of teaching cello and related coursework at the college level
Preferred Qualifications:
Terminal degree in Cello Performance or commensurate professional experience
2 years of teaching cello and related coursework at the college level, including some graduate level teaching
Regional profile as a performer

Benefits available include health, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement plans for all full-time positions. Employees at UNC receive sick leave, and other leave options may be available based on position. Full-time employees are eligible to receive tuition waiver benefits, as well as dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed at 0.5 FTE or above are eligible for undergraduate dependent tuition grants of up to 50%. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements may exist. Other benefits may be available based on position.
