Our Impact:This team is responsible for holistic 2LOD oversight of the capital markets compliance risks, including Master Trust Agreement (MTA) compliance risk, across Freddie Mac's major operating divisions. The team operationalizes the six Compliance Program pillars: Risk Identification and Classification; Risk Assessment and Measurement; Risk Oversight: Monitoring and Testing; Risk Remediation and Issue Management; Risk Reporting; and Risk Appetite.
Your Impact:The Compliance Senior supports the Capital Markets Compliance team's execution of set goals and partnership with the first-line of defense business teams (1LOD) and third-line of defense audit team (3LOD), to provide independent oversight of Freddie Mac's MTA programs, independent trustee functions, and capital markets activities. Duties include:
- Supporting the testing of 1LOD's compliance with MTA obligations and applicable securities and derivatives laws and regulations
- Assessing compliance risk through reviews of new business initiatives, 1LOD's risk and controls assessments, and quarterly risk review processes
- Participating in monitoring the firm's compliance with capital markets-related obligations
- Assisting the team in managing the documentation and timely remediation of capital markets-related issues that have been identified by the 1LOD and 2LOD
- Participating in meetings with partners in the business divisions and internal audit
- Collaborating with 2LOD teammates in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), as well as 1LOD and 3LOD partners, to mitigate and manage compliance risks related to securitization and capital markets activities across the enterprise
- Understanding the ERM Framework
• Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years of work experience in Compliance, enterprise risk management or audit functions, preferably in a bank, broker-dealer or other financial markets organization
• Degree in Finance or related field is preferred
• Domain experience in securities and derivatives-related laws and regulations, securitization and structured finance transactions and/or capital markets activities
• Project management skills preferred
• Clear communication skills and ability to convey complex concepts in simple and easily understood terms
• Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in dynamic environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with partners across the enterprise
