LOCATION: Lakeshore Technical College - Cleveland, Wisconsin

POSITION SUMMARY: Support the Lakeshore Student Leadership Board, student organization advisors, officers, and members. Responsible for student life programming and engagement efforts; generate ideas, plan, and execute events both independently and collaboratively. Responsible for daily operations and track utilization of student services programs such as StudentSHARE (campus food, clothing, and hygiene program) and Learn Lead Succeed (student leadership programming) as well as provide support to the Emerging Leaders summer leadership program. Provide an exceptional customer service experience to both internal and external customers throughout every interaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Other duties may be assigned):

(40%) Student Leadership
  • Responsible for the Lakeshore Student Leadership Board (SLB) as primary advisor.
  • Serve as primary contact and subject matter expert to Lakeshore SLB, student organization advisors and members. Develop and monitor annual SLB requirements and process; responsible for student organization requests for funding and managing annual Official Handbook of Student Organization Operations.
  • Assist with Lakeshore's representation of and participation in Wisconsin Student Government meetings and membership, including travel preparation and member training and preparation.
  • Facilitate annual selection process for, scheduling and support of Lakeshore's representative of the Wisconsin Technical College System's Student Ambassador.
  • Maintain records retention for SLB meeting minutes, manage communication and tracking of funds.
(40%) Student Engagement
  • Event responsibilities including, but not limited to:
    • Create student event schedule for school year including in-person and virtual components.
    • Facilitate event logistics including completing event sheets, assisting with purchasing within budget, organizing professional contracts with event vendors, scheduling travel/lodging, communicating facility, technology, and personnel needs.
    • Execute events both independently and collaboratively.
    • Facilitate fall and spring term Student Resource Fair, promoting awareness of student resources, clubs, and other student life activities.
    • Serve on graduation committee and manage two graduation student celebrations annually.
    • Provide support to the Emerging Leaders summer leadership program in partnership with Trio and Career & Employment Services.
    • Assist in service-learning programs in partnership with Trio.
    • Research, plan, develop, execute, and evaluate a comprehensive series of in-person and virtual programming for Lakeshore's Learn, Lead Succeed that enhances student development and promotes engagement, including support of student-led programs and community-partnered programs.
  • Communication & Promotional initiatives:
    • Responsible for the development, production, and maintenance of promotional and informational material related to student life and activities, including curation of student newsletter and Current Student online portal.
    • Organize and communicate annual student life and student organization accomplishments report.
    • Facilitate and organize updating of the annual student planner.
    • Serve on committees and workgroups related to student initiatives.
(20%) StudentSHARE Program Coordination
  • Responsible for the daily and administrative operations of the StudentSHARE food, clothing, and personal care program.
  • Facilitate research, track data, and obtain feedback to support priorities and focus areas.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide direct supervision to Student Leadership Board volunteers and Student Help/Work-Study interns.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Associate degree in a related discipline required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline preferred.
  • Two to three years of recent relevant occupational experience required.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION:

MVR CHECK Required - The employee in this position is a potential operator of a Lakeshore Technical College owned vehicle or may be responsible for driving any other motor vehicles on behalf of the College.

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to navigate through Windows; access college network system; understand database concepts; and download and manage various applications and files.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technology and be able to support any software or hardware that is used by the College.
OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of WTCS and Lakeshore's mission, vision, and strategic direction.
  • Ability to master software such as: Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
