Job Purpose: Provide direct care to patients in the endoscopy setting utilizing the nursing process of assessment and physician delegation. This opening is for a 0.75 FTE, (3, 10-hour) working shifts typically Monday-Friday, occasional/optional Saturday.

Essential Functions: In order to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily and regular attendance is required. The responsibilities listed below are representative of the primary essential functions required; additional duties may be assigned.   • Record patients' medical history and assessment.
  • Start IV/saline lock.
  • Perform INR and glucose testing.
  • Prepare patients for and assist physician in endoscopy procedures.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records in the electronic health record.
  • Recovery of sedated patients and discharge assessments.
  • Utilize proper infection control techniques.
  • Monitor all aspects of patient care, anticipate patient and physician needs.
  • Instruct individuals and families on topics such as health education and disease prevention.

Additional Responsibilities May Include:

  • Infusion and injection administration
  • Esophageal Motility/PH testing
  • Assist with BRAVO Capsule placement
  • Capsule studies
  • Maintain supplies
  • Charge Nurse
  • Any and all other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing required. One to two years of clinical experience is required; GI related experience is preferred. Experience using an Electronic Health Record is required.

Certifications/Licenses: Current Minnesota Nursing License is required. Must be CPR certified
