Description of Work:
This position will be responsible for coordination of curriculum for UGEP 102, which serves as the primary training for orientation leaders through the spring semester. This position will also manage the training the week preceding summer orientation. During all new student orientations (freshman and transfer), this position will oversee the coordination, implementation and execution of all Life of a Husker programming, orientation leader allocations, and orientation leader assessments and evaluations. This position will oversee the recruitment, interview process, and selection of the orientation leader team. This position will oversee NSE social media channels. This position will work independently in curriculum and program execution and training orientation leaders and International Welcome Team leaders. Coordination includes working closely with UNL faculty and staff, NSE student orientation leaders and student staff, parents and current students, and on- and off-campus vendors. The position will require presentations to small and large groups. Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree plus one year of full-time experience in student services, including but not limited to recruitment, advising, orientation or other support services in higher education required, graduate assistantships considered . Experience working with college students, leadership development, education, youth development or related field necessary. Must have excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Public speaking experience essential. Ability to handle numerous projects and details simultaneously and accurately required. Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office software necessary. Must have ability to relate to people of all ages, academic abilities and cultures. Experience in the event planning/hospitality industry essential. Experience training student leaders required. Proven ability to work independently and with minimal or no supervision or clerical support necessary. Demonstrated project management experience and the ability to develop content, programs and services for a targeted area of coordination essential. Must have ability to work with students and UNL employees of diverse backgrounds. Evidence of working in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands required.Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in higher education administration, college student personnel, education, counseling, sociology or related field preferred. Extensive campus involvement as an undergraduate, graduate student, or professional and enthusiasm representing UNL to the public.Facilitated a peer mentoring program. Teaching experience. Posted Salary: $40,000 yr/minimum
