Job Summary

Oldcastle APG Metro region has a Career Development Program to attract, develop, and retain world-class leaders. Rooted primarily in customer service, trainees are exposed to various functions of the business over a two-year period, by being an active member of the team in customer service and sales. The ideal candidate will spend time working with contractors and traveling to other profit centers in the region. This program will set you up for success in a long-term leadership role in Customer Service, Sales, Finance and/or other Administration roles with an industry leader in building supply manufacturing.

Customer Service (70%)

  • You'll gain a great foundation of the team and business in this phase of our program. Time will be spent understanding, performing, and mastering the logistics of getting materials in and out of our business. In addition, you'll interact with customers and learn our products, spend time out in the field learning how products are applied and made, and visit other locations to see the differences between brands.

Inside Sales (10%)

  • You'll learn to interact with our existing customers, provide solutions to their problems and develop relationships.

Outside Sales (10%)​​​​​​​

  • Here you'll work to capture new accounts and learn how we grow existing accounts. You'll become partners with our customers in their business as you develop relationships with them.

Leadership and Operations (10%)

  • This part of our program will focus on operations management and leadership training.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Sales, Accounting or equivalent work/military experience
  • Entry-level work experience in people or project supervision, sales, operations, and/or customer service is a plus
  • An ability and willingness to work in all areas in the region applied
  • A strong desire to build a career into a leadership role
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in professional, educational, and/or social experiences
  • Goal-orientated, competitive spirit, and a take-charge attitude
  • The ability to travel throughout the region as needed for development, up to 10%
  • The ability to perform a wide range of tasks, with an equal blend of interpersonal and analytical skills
