Job Description

Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, this position is ideal for an individual with an electronics background, good troubleshooting skills, and networking experience. There will be ample opportunities to expand your knowledge in all these areas. You will get extensive on the job training and draw from your knowledge in mechatronics, electrical engineering, computing, networking, troubleshooting, and programming. You will have multiple avenues for professional growth and development as our department continues to expand. An availability and willingness to travel (within North America) is essential as most of the work is done at customer sites, delivering our solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering and commissioning PDCS (power distribution control system) and EPMS (electrical power monitoring system) systems
  • Assisting with the preparation of project specific documentation such as:
    • Functional Design Specifications (FDS)
    • Network Diagrams
    • Testing Workbooks
    • Points lists for interfaced systems
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Configuring power equipment for communication
  • Potential growth opportunities include:
    • Developing detailed software code for automation, control, and energy management data acquisition applications
    • Developing Graphical User Interface (GUI) in EPMS and PDCS systems
    • Administering the management of projects from inception to on-site commissioning, integrated system testing, training, and client hand-over.
    • Providing technical support and preventive maintenance.

Requirements:

  • BS/BA in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related degrees preferred, but not required
  • Completion of coursework and/or degree in:
    • Mechatronics Technology
    • Industrial Electronics Technology
    • Electrical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering/Computing qualifications with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of power distribution systems and control systems
  • Proficient understanding of electrical systems
  • Experience with PLC & SCADA development
  • Work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Be efficiently organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Relevant experience in an Engineering / Manufacturing environment preferred
  • SQL Database Experience preferred

Travel Required:

  • 100% of travel required.
  • Ability to travel is essential.
  • Required to stay at customer sites for extended periods of time.
