As Roo continues to grow as the leading veterinary relief platform, we are looking to add an ambitious Business Development Manager to grow existing metro market share by seeking out new acquisition opportunities for the Roo platform. The BDM will serve as an advisor, leader, and technical expert and will support colleagues/functions to develop sales tactics to expedite the growth and stability of the market they manage.

Note that this role would be operating on a fully remote basis, and individuals MUST reside within the Houston area to be considered for this position.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for growth within relevant regional territory.
  • Drive the identification and onboarding of new Veterinary Providers onto the Roo platform, and spearhead impactful sales initiatives, combining both virtual and in-person tactics, focusing on acquisition.
  • Conduct ~40% in-person sales calls to acquire and onboard potential new veterinarians to achieve growth targets.
  • Identify and facilitate relationships with high-frequency veterinarian users to potentially participate in Roo Ambassador program.
  • Create quarterly sales plans aligned with functional and company level objectives, and track relevant metrics internally to own progress and react accordingly.
  • Collaborate with regional account managers to facilitate the smooth transition of Roo user relationships and to ensure proactive management for long term territory stability.
  • Regularly track and share market insights with regional and senior leadership.
  • Efficiently manage sales pipeline to move prospective Roo users to customer status.
  • Lead and coordinate user recruitment events in partnership with marketing team (dinners, happy hours, etc).
  • Act as an expert on Roo's platform, providing targeted guidance to Roo users as needed to drive engagement.
  • Ensure user engagement and satisfaction on the Roo platform, working cross functionally to proactively address any rainy-day scenario or resolve any user issue.

About You

  • 3+ years successful field/remote sales experience; Veterinary healthcare experience a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred (Business/Sales or Animal Health related).
  • Demonstrated success in prospecting, pre-call planning, and deal closure.
  • Proven ability to solve problems using analysis of data.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-oriented sales skills - ability to build relationships.
  • Proficient with Google modalities, CMS (e.g., Hubspot), quick learner of new technologies.
  • Strong, influential verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional maturity, adaptability to varied environments.
  • Ability to execute sales strategies while maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong logical reasoning skills and passion for results.
  • Ability to train peers on sales processes and use collateral and assets effectively.
  • Impeccable time management skills, and ability manage daily and weekly schedule to adapt to changing priorities self-sufficiently.
  • Willing to travel up to 40% travel by car within assigned territory, including occasional overnight.
