A Brief Overview

The Epic Product Lead is responsible for adoption and optimization of assigned features in Stanford Health Care's Epic software application. The role includes direct and indirect support of all stages of the software development lifecycle as well as other duties as assigned related to the optimization of Epic. The role includes collaboration with various teams, including physicians, administrative staff, and partnered vendors.

What you will do

  • Inform and influence product stakeholders to affect system optimization
  • Plan and facilitate stakeholder meetings
  • Develop end user and customer relationships
  • Work closely with the clinical and business departments, with external customers, and with vendors to identify and execute system optimizations
  • Develop tools and methods to optimize assigned Epic functionality
  • Use strategic thinking and problem solving with appropriate information to identify problems and solutions
  • Plan and facilitate team meetings involving technical stakeholders, support staff, vendors, and end users; regularly present status reports
  • Estimate time and effort calculations related to assigned Epic module optimization efforts
  • Identify IT process optimization opportunities
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of Epic application capabilities and research and development efforts
  • Adopt Epic and revenue cycle industry best practices to increase automation and reduce manual end-user workflows
  • Provide support of applications, including 24/7 on-call coverage
  • Set and measure performance goals and provide regular one-on-one feedback to team members
  • Provide technical coaching and training to IT staff
  • Measure and improve key performance indicators related to assigned Epic functionality

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Required

Experience Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
  • Firsthand experience with multiple Epic implementations

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to simplify and contribute to Epic related initiatives that are complex in scope, duration, and end user impact
  • Ability to communicate concepts in concise and succinct form to various stakeholders; verbally, in writing, and with diagrams
  • Ability to handle confrontation with patience, professionalism, and objectivity
  • Ability to identify and develop process improvement initiatives
  • Ability to foster constructive working relationships
  • Ability to build consensus with stakeholders of disparate departments and technical knowledgebases
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to coach, mentor, train, and evaluate Epic related work products
  • Knowledge and understanding of health care goals and the interdependencies of functional
  • Ability to direct a staff in integrating Epic technology and related applications
  • Skills in interpersonal relationship management with ability to motivate through goal setting, modeling, and through building a culture of positivity and productivity
  • Knowledge of information technology concepts including: networking, databases, software, interfaces, requirements gathering, testing, training, and production support

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $ $78.37 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
