Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Phlebotomist/CNA to join our team

JOB SUMMARY:

Order, collecting, process routine and specialty testing, and returning results back to doctor. Obtain, process doctor's orders, and data entry. Provide good customer service on the phone, patients, doctors and other medical staff. Work well under pressure. Collects blood samples ensuring proper patient identification and labeling samples. Follows clinic & hospital policies and procedures for transporting/delivering of samples to laboratory. Perform CLIA waived testing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Proficiency in collecting blood samples and other body fluids, ensuring proper patient identification and labeling of samples.
  2. Follows hospital policies and procedures for transporting and delivering samples to laboratory.
  3. Knowledge of laboratory testing menu and specimen stability and suitability.
  4. Ensure that patients receive appropriate competent and quality clinical care and that customer service meets patient's expectation.
    1. Adherence by staff to all policies and procedures.
    2. Provides age appropriate care.
    3. Reporting monitoring and management of patient and staff incidents.
    4. Monitoring and management of patient and physician satisfaction.
  5. Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
  6. Maintain, develop and utilize professional relationships with a wide range of

    organizations and specialists.
    1. Maintain effective working relationships between nursing, clerical, medical and allied health staff.
  7. Maintains strict quality control for procedures.
  8. Organize requisitions received for collection, Maintains records of tests performed Scanning orders and lab results into electronic medical system, print and fax lab reports to ordering doctor.
  9. Orients and mentors new staff members.
  10. Shows great customer service on the phone and in person to anyone that enters the laboratory.
  11. Performs miscellaneous tasks that promote smooth operations.
  12. Other duties as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

Education/Certification: High School Diploma or higher. Valid Certificate Phlebotomist, Certificate, Certified Nursing Assistant Valid driver's license.

Experience: Phlebotomy course or 6 months phlebotomy experience.

Equipment/Technology: Experience with computers and office equipment, required.

Language/Communication: The ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Bilingual is a plus. Must understand medical terminology.

Mathematical Skills: General Math skills.

Mental Capabilities: Can frequently and consistently make sound judgments. Must be organized, multi-tasker, and a critical thinker.

Interpersonal: Good communication skills, and ability to work well with others. Team player and flexible.

Performance: Can work well under pressure and meet multiple and competing deadlines. Good customer service skills. Can recognize and understand the complexity and reflex-testing of laboratory complexity.
