What is the opportunity?

The Senior Manager QE partners across IT and with assigned business lines to provide Quality Assurance leadership. Leads and manages a Quality Assurance Department to improve the quality of the software distributed to production. This role will be responsible for all test strategy, planning, execution and test environment support for all testing engagements across all testing phases. A key part of this role will include developing and executing the QE vision, taking into account industry trends and organizational goals and objectives. This individual will manage an entire QE team of analysts, software engineers, performance and automation leads, QE & Software Engineering and Test leads.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for managing test teams and aligning to RBC Quality Engineering practices
  • Responsible for integration of QE resourcing to programs/projects, assuring engagement at the start of the initiative
  • Responsible for managing resources and vendor coordination, driving alignment with RBC practices and efficient usage
  • Partner with Application Development Directors to integrate quality engineering mindset/concepts within the DevOps framework/pipeline
  • Accountable to work with project teams in the implementation of defined test strategies across application lifecycle, utilizing QE processes and tools
  • Accountable for coverage and efficiency in program/projects test plans within area of control
  • Accountable for maximizing automation for all project functional testing deliverables in portfolio
  • Responsible for following defined processes and tools and alignment with overall QE strategy and framework

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Professional with experience on multiple projects with multiple interfaces and/or 3rd parties
  • 7+ years in related field with a minimum 3 years of management experience
  • Experience leading test case design at different levels, test optimization and automation efforts and identifying automation opportunities
  • Experience working in a scrum/agile or iterative waterfall development environment

Nice-to-have

  • Software Quality Certification
  • Previous Financial business line(s)' business applications/ processes
