Posting Context Statement

Position Overview
This position provides oversight of transfer and commencement services; and communicates with students, faculty, staff, and external parties on questions regarding the commencement, and transfer initiatives. This position partners with the President's Office, University Communications and Marketing, and Event Support Services in the planning and coordination of the commencement ceremonies and oversees the budgets to provide a signature event for the university within budget. This position is responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategic enrollment planning for transfer initiatives for the University of Idaho. Duties include overseeing and facilitating domestic articulation agreements and transfer pathways for the University with community college partners and providing comprehensive transfer services. The position serves as the primary point of contact for transfer students, community college representatives and UI staff/faculty who advise transfer students.

Required Experience
  • Experience interpreting, explaining, and applying laws, regulations, and complex policies for multiple or highly specialized programs
  • Experience analyzing information and researching a variety of sources to identify and resolve problems or issues
  • Experience researching a variety of sources to collect and compile information
  • Experience coordinating complex events


Required Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree

Experience:

  • Experience working in an Office of the Registrar or in a postsecondary environment
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner SIS
  • Experience planning and executing large events for a wide variety of constituents
  • Experience working with automated student record systems

Skills/Knowledge/Ability to:

  • Familiarity with FERPA and University of Idaho academic policies and procedures
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing policies and procedures
  • Ability to handle sensitive information in discreet and professional manner
  • Knowledge of UI academic rules and regulations for undergraduate level advising and curriculum
  • Ability to work in a repetitive, detail-oriented environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills while working under pressure with individuals of varying cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Ability to understand and explain complex concepts to others in a clear manner
