Job Summary and Qualifications

The AVP of Reimbursement will be responsible for the direction of all operations activities of the Reimbursement staff's effort to comply with Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, and Corporate rules while adhering to policies and obtaining appropriate payment from government health insurance programs.

The AVP of Reimbursement will ensure Reimbursement staff is in compliance with all company policy and procedures & federal and state regulations

Responsibilities

•Manage all teams involved in the cost reporting process to ensure cost reports are filed in full compliance to federal and state statutes and company policies & procedures

•Coordinate feasibility analyses and/or due diligence related to Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement

•Coordinates the implementation of the third party accounting system and ensure it is maintained

•Communicate with Managing Directors and other staff around possible changes in operation, which could have a material effect on reimbursement across the enterprise

•Assist Group Chief Financial Officer in review of contractual adjustment budgets as requested

•Ensure staff receives appropriate education and training

•Direct staff to educate hospitals on maintenance of proper documentation and statistical information for completion of annual cost report on basic principles of reimbursement and cost reporting

•Oversee Medicare/Medicaid cost report process to facilitate the timely and accurate preparation of annual cost reports and recording of cost report entries

•Coordinate the completion of the Applications for Medicare Geographic Reclassification and the review and correction of underlying wage data

•Communicate changes in Medicare laws, regulations, and policies

•Coordinate appeal issues and discusses their resolution with the Appeals staff

•Coordinate the usage of reimbursement consultants

Qualifications

Bachelors degree (Accounting or Finance preferred)

Masters preferred

10+ years reimbursement experience, including management experience
