Concord Academy, an independent college preparatory school for grades 9 through 12 located in Concord, Massachusetts, seeks to fill an opening in its Performing Arts Department for a dance teacher and choreographer, to begin July 1, 2024. Chartered in 1922, the school currently enrolls approximately 420 boarding and day students from ten countries and territories and fifteen states.

The school seeks to appoint an experienced full-time teacher (or multiple part-time teachers) in support of a strong and well-established dance program. The successful candidate will value and seek out opportunities to collaborate with colleagues and engage with a diverse community. They will bring a creative and innovative interest to curriculum design and experimentation and a keen commitment to their own development as a teacher. We are looking for candidates with genuine enthusiasm for working with adolescents, curiosity about learning, commitment to professional and personal growth, and experience supporting students through inclusive curriculum and equitable practices.

The Concord Academy performing arts department seeks a collaborative, dynamic, and innovative dance teaching artist. Candidates must possess a strong professional and/or academic background in modern dance and ballet and have strong choreographic skills. Responsibilities include teaching courses in all levels of dance technique in one or more of the following forms: contemporary modern dance, ballet, improvisation, and composition. The ability to teach other dance forms or areas of dance studies including hip hop, jazz, and/or vernacular dance forms, or other topics in the candidate's area of expertise is strongly desired. Additional responsibilities include choreographing for one to two dance concerts for the Concord Academy Dance Project ensemble, as well as choreographing a yearly musical in collaboration with the theater program.
