Position summary

T-Mobile is America's supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Engineers, Systems Architectures located in Reston, VA will provide radio frequency (RF) and/or wireless transmission design.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Design, plan and oversee installation and maintenance of wireless radio communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout, parameter definition, and ancillary equipment. Analyze and evaluate complex technical network specifications generated by the standard bodies. Research and provide analysis of new features and emerging technologies in the wireless industry. Perform engineering feasibility studies to support various deployment scenarios. Assist in the development and evaluation of network performance criteria and measurement methods. Assist in the development and evaluation of customer experience metrics and analysis methods. Use skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedure. Resolve a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Interact with senior internal and external personnel. Specific Skills Requirement - must have educational or professional experience in: Experience (1) Create software code and utilize automated workflows with Alteryx or comparable tools to extract data, analyze, extrapolate network insights and present highlights. Experience (2) Create reporting using Tableau or comparable tools to investigate, deep-dive and summarize key findings from KPI changes across device, customer cohorts and network dimensions Experience (3) Research 3GPP standards (including Layer1-3), interpret feature impact on network performance, and create feature summary and roadmap documentation Experience (4) Perform theoretical analysis, create system models (including Simulink, Excel, or comparable tools), and use statistical methods to evaluate impact of simulation results Experience (5) Identify LTE performance improvement opportunities utilizing network datasets (IMNOS) to extract key performance metrics and identify localized market opportunities accounting for features and spectrum differentiation. Experience and education requirements: PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related, and one year of relevant work experience. ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related, and three years of relevant work experience.
