Overview

We're currently hiring a Contract Specialist I to join our Legal Team. This person will evaluate, draft and negotiate contract terms and conditions pertaining to licensed products with government and commercial customers, attorneys and procurement personnel.


Responsibilities
  • Perform contract review and evaluation to identify terms and conditions that are not aligned with the company's approved contract terms and standard contracting processes that will pose risks to the company.
  • Interpret contract requirements and contract change impacts; escalating issues to relevant internal stakeholders for approvals as needed.
  • Understand the company's standard contract policies and approved terms and conditions, and articulate the company's position to internal clients, management, and other professionals, and how it differs from external client provided terms and conditions.
  • Negotiate contractual terms with in-house counsel and/or sales team support to lessen the company's risk and maximize benefits to the company.
  • Draft contractual language with in-house counsel support.
  • Work with and communicate effectively with senior management and in-house counsel to solve contractual issues.
  • Work with and communicate effectively with sales, project management, and finance to coordinate contract details.
  • Close out contracts including finalizing outstanding contract issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Associates degree (Business, Procurement, Contract Law or another related field strongly preferred).
  • 1+ years' experience in a similar general contracting environment, preferably working directly in contract administration, contract review, and/or in-house paralegal or similar work.
  • General understanding of basic contract law/commercial contract terms and conditions.
  • Reliable, self-managed individual with sound judgment and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Must possess strong writing and speaking skills in English.
  • Must possess strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • The ability to perform multiple duties in a fast-paced work environment.
  • The ability to work within and maintain databases (Salesforce experience a plus).
