Job Summary

The College of Science, Technology, and Health at Lindenwood University invites applications for the position of visiting instructor to join the athletic training graduate program for the academic school year. The visiting instructor will be one of three full-time faculty members responsible for the oversight and delivery of the MSAT program. This is a full-time, 9-month faculty position that will begin August 19, 2024. This is a non-tenure track, limited-term teaching faculty appointment with a 24-credit workload for the academic year. Reappointment beyond the first year is possible and will be largely based on candidate qualifications and first-year performance. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.

Faculty are responsible for curriculum, teaching, service, scholarship, and related administrative activities that support the mission, vision, and values of the university and the MSAT program. This includes developing and implementing high-quality course instruction and student assessment; offering effective and engaging student mentorship; participating in university activities related to recruitment and retention; and providing support for the program director and coordinator of clinical education in ensuring compliance with the CAATE standards for professional athletic training programs. The successful candidate will be expected to teach the equivalence of four courses (12 credit hours) each semester in the graduate athletic training curriculum; mentor students in research-based culminating projects; and assist with the overall preparation (didactic and clinical) of students for the BOC examination and professional practice. Specific teaching assignments will be based on the candidate's contemporary expertise within the field. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching in a CAATE-accredited program.

Qualified applicants must possess a minimum of a master's degree (doctoral degree preferred) in athletic training, exercise science, kinesiology, or related field. Applicants should also have a minimum of three years of clinical experience in a full-time position as a professional athletic trainer. Applicants must be in good standing with the Board of Certification with current Missouri state licensure (or eligibility for licensure).

Unless a faculty position is designated as fully remote, all full-time faculty positions are designated as non-standard flex. On-campus presence is required and is deemed necessary to perform the position expectations. Flexibility for remote work for non-routine, situational, and unusual circumstances, is provided at the administrator's discretion.
