About this role

What will you be responsible for?

The Senior Manager, SAP Data Modeling, bears overall responsibility for architecting and supporting the technology enablement and maturity of SAP data models to support ever growing business reporting requirements, Incumbent will be responsible for understanding business needs and reporting requirements and transforming them into a robust virtual data model in Datasphere. This person must have a strong combination of business and technical acumen including demonstrated competency across data domains such as architecture, integration and modeling, master data management, governance and other data services. This person must be a self-starter, change agent and exceptional problem solver with a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design as well as an understanding of user-centered design and testing methodologies, usability and accessibility concerns.

In this role you will

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:

Strategic

  • Handle strategy to building and execution of SAP data models in Datasphere that support reporting business solutions focused on Power BI, S/4HANA Embedded Analytics, SAP Analytics Cloud and Fiori based reports.
  • Integrate multiple existing SAP processes across on premise and cloud solutions, assets and teams into harmonious data models that will allow us to competitively respond to business requests.
  • Work closely with the Enterprise Data Warehouse team to compare and contrast SAP Data or Analytics solutions and provide a point of view to support them in the creation and socialization of standards and guidelines on reporting strategy.
  • Work closely with key partners in Finance, HR, Payroll, Plant Maintenance and Supply Chain to develop and execute on SAP Data Models or Analytics transformation roadmap projects and help them with a quantifiable value case and delivery estimates and planning.
  • Assess opportunities against business objectives and identify creative means to implement new and innovative technical and process based SAP solutions.
  • Deal effectively with ambiguous and unstructured problems and situations.
  • Anticipate stakeholder needs and develop and discuss potential solutions.

Tactical

  • Partner with IT Functional leads to ensure capability design, build validation, deployment and steady state support.
  • Ensure ongoing quality and integrity of SAP reports.
  • Work in close partnership with end users to define reporting requirements, convert them into functional specifications, assess them against standard SAP business content and determine the required reporting solution.
  • Partner with business to develop a governance model to manage the development and deployment of production grade SAP reports.
  • Move easily from big picture thinking and managing relevant detail.
  • Oversee and manage multiple parallel projects, risk identifications, mitigation and cost control.

Operational

  • Prioritize work of direct reports and oversee the quality and appropriateness of the work performed.
  • Lead ongoing operational support, maintenance, updates and continuous improvement of SAP data models and associated SAP reports.
  • Resolve and/or facilitate resolution of problems including identifying cause to prevent re-occurrence. Identify and resolve business issues, escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Accountable to complete the planned execution of SAP solutions roadmaps and enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Ensure adherence to all internal/external audit and SOX IT controls related to SAP technology.
  • Support the existing applications and develop state of the art, enterprise class reporting solutions in SAP cloud platform that meet business requirements and are supportable.

Education:

  • Bachelor's (undergraduate) degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience designing and delivering and supporting large scale distributed systems.
  • 10 years of technology, people management and related management experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the computer information field, specifically in HANA/BW Modeling, Master data management and reporting design and development.
  • Experience with SAP Datasphere, SAP MDG, S/4HANA Fiori, Embedded Analytics, SAP Analytics Cloud and CDS views development techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, excellent collaboration and teaming skills with multiple groups, effective time management and multi-tasking skills, self-starter behavior.
  • Experience in source code repository and versioning using github/gitlabs.
  • Mining, construction, utilities or other heavy industry experience is preferred.
  • Strong BW and HANA based modeling experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of tools like Eclipse for both SAPUI5/Fiori and ABAP developments.
  • Knowledge of Fiori and ERP processes using SAP suite of products and its integration points. Applications include SAP S/4HANA and Cloud (Fiori, ARIBA, SuccessFactors, Concur, SAP Cloud Platform etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of SAP data including SAP Master data, S/4HANA data migration with Data Services, CDS views, storyboards and design led thinking.
  • Applicant is required to have a strong architecture, analytics, development and Mobile background.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $120,480 to 143,070. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
