Buoyant Family Services LLC is seeking a Provisionally licensed therapist to provide in-office mental health therapy services to a broad range of clients from children to adults.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP) is a part of the treatment team and is closely supervised by an assigned clinical supervisor to ensure proper guidance regarding both clinical knowledge and clinical record documentation. The PLMHP will welcome, inspire and provide hope within a safe environment since "every door is the right door". Under supervision, the PLMHP identifies and manages patients with behavioral health problems. In addition, the PLMHP will provide quality mental health interventions for diverse populations. The PLMHP will develop specific behavioral change plans for patients under the close supervision of a clinical supervisor. In addition, have the ability and flexibility to treat clients regardless of age, economic status, gender, gender choice, ethnicity and or race.

POSITION-SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide mental health and/or substance use assessments, treatment interventions, and counseling to individuals, couples, and families to impact changes leading to growth and healing.
  • Assess the clinical status of patients referred.
  • Completes clinical documentation according to policies and procedures.
  • Assist clients in identifying natural support and community resources to ensure stabilization.
  • Maintain programmatic direct service unit expectations.
  • Attend and participate in required meetings and activities.
  • Serve as a trustworthy member of the Behavioral Health Team
  • Abide by State and Federal guidelines as it pertains to code of ethics, code of conduct, billing submission and therapeutic relationships.
  • Create and continuously review and update program participants symptoms and behaviors and adjust treatment/program and safety plan and required documentation accordingly.
  • Work diligently and professionally with internal and external partners
  • Work effectively and efficiently with the adolescent population, their families and other identified members
  • Comfortable with use of Windows operating system (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
  • Develop a positive working relationship with area agencies, including but not limited to, County Boards of Mental Health, Probation, Diversion, State Criminal Justice System, and DHHS.
  • Provisional employees should meet all requirements of the state of NE and agree to close supervision.
  • Actively work towards obtaining full LIMHP credential
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Master's degree from an accredited university in a Human Service program, which provided preparation for professional counseling.
  • Licensure: Licensed as a Provisional Mental Health Therapist in the State of Nebraska (PLMHP) required.
  • Expertise: Working towards knowledge of evidence-based treatments for mental health conditions. Valid Nebraska Driver's license, proof of liability insurance, and ability to drive for work. Demonstrated skills and competencies to work with individuals with a variety of behavioral health, including but not limited to persons of diverse cultural backgrounds. Ability to work effectively as a team, interfacing with clients, administrative, and support staff. Ability to effectively represent BFS's interests in the community and maintain effective working relationships among co-workers, public, private, and professional groups. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Language: English, Bilingual a plus.

Work Hours: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm (Saturday by Appointment only).
