Project Overview:

UPF is a multi-year, multi-billion-dollar project and will be a first-of-its-kind complex for enriched uranium operations in support of Y-12 missions. UPF is one of the Department of Energy's largest investments in Tennessee since the Manhattan Project and one of the National Nuclear Security Administration's largest construction projects. When complete, UPF will: replace a 70-year-old facility with modern buildings, reduce operational costs and energy consumption, improve worker safety, and provide enriched uranium capabilities well into the future.

The UPF project works on a 4/10 schedule. Start times are flexible but the standard work week is: Monday - Thursday from 6:00am to 4:30pm.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will assist with technical direction and conduct installation configuration validation and work package development. You will participate in and assist with work planning, turnover coordination, material management and quantities, quality control, and environmental safety and health. Your work will help ensure equipment, systems, and activities are operating and compliant with plans and design. #LI-EH1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Take detailed direction from Startup Test Lead for assigned materials.
  • Approving amounts and types of materials.
  • Understanding the products technical design.
  • Ensuring quality levels and storage requirements.
  • Coordinating with the Startup Test Engineers to ensure materials are in stock.
  • Developing FMR's and tracking through materials arrivals.
  • Performing other duties as directed in support of project activities.
  • Reporting to Startup management FMR's statuses.
  • Coordinate with Startup Maintenance Team to assure any required maintenance.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Level 1: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Level 2: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge in the areas of and knowledge of principles and practices related to startup testing and commissioning.
  • Good knowledge of related construction and engineering practices and the economics involved.
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and design criteria.
  • Excellent computer skills to include BCS.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience preparing and presenting test procedures and reports.
