Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to support the mission of the organization through active participation in clinical efforts to provide treatment in a recovery-oriented environment. The foundation of a recovery-oriented environment is respect and a commitment to safety in the least restrictive manner possible.\r
This position provides psychological assessments and treatment to SHC patients with serious persistent mental illness, personality disorders, co-occurring disorders, addiction, and trauma and recovery issues. Services facilitate recovery, increase optimal patient functioning, and facilitate rapid successful community re-entry. Treatment and assessments are evidence-based treatment and/or proven to advance patients towards successful community re-entry. This position also provides assistance with training and supervision of psychologists, psychology interns, and psychology externs where needed and/or appropriate.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Psychologists under the licensing requirements for Psychologists.\r
Experience: Two years of experience rendering psychological services or engaged in psychological research after receipt of the�Psychologist license. \r

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for this classification must be licensed as a Psychologist by the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists prior to permanent appointment to a position.� Applicants who do not have a Maryland license may apply�before receipt of the required license but the application will be designated in�pending status by the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Testing Unit.�When the license has been obtained, submit a copy of the license to MDH to�remove the pending status from the application. \r
2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties that require operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess�a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r
