We are currently interviewing a Field Service Technician. Our chosen candidate will be trained by an outstanding Field Service Engineering Team. We are looking for candidates with overall Lab, Medical Instrumentation, and/or Mechanical background. With either an Associates degree/Bachelors Degree or Military experience in lieu of a degree.

This position is responsible for conducting service, repair and/or installation of products or IT solutions at customer site, including electrical and mechanical testing, in accordance with maintenance contracts. Diagnoses system failures and determines most cost-effective solution.


Location: This position will be remote and cover the territory: South San Francisco, San Jose, Pleasanton, CA

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop knowledge of applicable products, customer support, and technical skills vital to perform high-quality preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of instruments.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance, installation, and repairs, and independently as ability improves.
  • Diagnoses system failures and determines most cost-effective solution. Escalates complex issues to greater level of technical support or quality reporting system.
  • Responds to customer support calls within an assigned territory.
  • Once trained, this position may develop new customer service/product agreements.
  • Completes administration duties (logging service activities, expense reporting, inventory).
  • Learn and troubleshoot and implement problem-solving procedures.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Preferred Associate's degree (A.S./A.A.S) or Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) and ideal if majored in Life Sciences, Chemistry, or Engineering. Mechanical and/or Military experience considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 0 to 3+ years' experience either as a Field Service Technician and/or Medical Instrumentation Lab experience.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50-65% domestic travel, by vehicle, to customer's sites. We provide a company car and gas card, some overnight travel, by air travel, is required for training.
  • Maintain a clean and valid Driver's License and Meet Vendor Credentialing requirements. Move equipment up to 50 lbs.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Preferred knowledge in Mass Spectrometry or related scientific instruments experience desired.
  • Mechanical and/or Science background. Exposed to moving parts and electricity that require safety protocols.
  • Experience in trouble shooting procedures and providing quality Customer Service.

The salary range range for this role is $60-$67K range (depending on work experience, degree, military experience, etc.) This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
