As the Manager, Technical Product Specialist for Beckman Coulter you will lead a team who will support the sales organization in gaining market share and competitive capture while aligning their activities with key growth initiatives within Hematology/Urinalysis. You will provide coaching and direction to the team on positioning Hematology and Urinalysis products to customers at a highly technical and data-driven level. You will work very closely with regional and area sales leadership to ensure that the TPS team is engaged within the most critical accounts and contributes to high impact sales activities. In this role it is important that you are consistently collaborating cross-functionally with marketing and the business unit on new product launches, market intelligence and key initiatives to drive the Hem/UA business forward.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Sets direction for the team and ensures they are in alignment with the rest of the selling organization. Develops, coaches and engages with TPS associates. Has regular 1:1's, development planning and feedback discussions with associates through phone discussions and ride-alongs
  • Works closely with the Sales Team on pre-sale demos and evaluation support. Focuses on the sales funnel and engages sales team to support the most critical sales opportunities with appropriate prioritization
  • Business unit liaison for new and future product introductions and disseminates critical technical information to team
  • Responsible for managing workflow analyses, technical customer presentations, and side-by-side evaluations.
  • Attends regionally appropriate industry meetings, tradeshows, etc.
  • Work closely with the Sales Team to capture new business and support retention opportunities.
  • Business planning to achieve performance targets will be required. Quotas will be assigned and compensation and performance will be based on quotas achieved and other performance criteria.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • 9+ years' experience required with 5+ clinical lab experience preferred
  • Medical Technologist or CLS degree required
  • Direct people leadership preferred but not required
  • Certified Specialist in Hematology (SH) Certification (ASCP or equivalent) preferred
  • Ability to travel 50%.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in Hematology and Urinalysis with a solid understanding of hematology and urinalysis technology and workflow
  • Experience in relentlessly attracting, engaging and developing people; can cultivate teams quickly and build strong relationships by establishing significant credibility, trust and support within teams, customers, as well as being able to develop strong followership within the commercial organization.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and executive presence with an ability to work with people at multiple levels both inside and outside of Danaher; can influence strongly cross-functionally within the organization, gaining buy-in and engagement.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Excellent process orientation with a proven track record of leading sustainable change and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent time and territory management habits.
