Purchasing Assistant Responsibilities:
  • Reviews requisitions.
  • Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
  • Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
  • Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
  • Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
  • Arranges inbound freight.
  • Monitors inventory position against sales forecast and customer orders to maintain acceptable safety stock levels.
  • Enters Production Sheets.-
  • Processes receiving paperwork.
  • Verifies invoice price to PO confirming the Invoice matches the PO.
  • Expedites delivery of goods to users.
Purchasing Assistant Requirements:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines,
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • One or two years' purchasing experience a plus.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree a plus.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment a plus.
