Join us as a Senior Construction Engineer (m/f/x) reporting to the Director of Site Services in Oberursel, Germany

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Within a Project:

  • Is the lead engineer construction for the planning phase of a EPS project.
  • Advises on construction related design steps of disciplines in terms of constructability.
  • Prepares the baseline schedule Level III for the assigned construction site.
  • Coordinates interfaces with other areas, disciplines, contractors or battery limits.
  • Coordinates incoming materials and erection documentation in due time.
  • Issues the Construction Execution Plan and its annexes as well as site facility, QAQC and EHS Plans.
  • Prepares the draft of the emergency procedure.
  • Provides induction of employees to be sent to site.
  • Issues request for quotations for the construction contractors, prepares bid comparison, support construction supplier selection process, audit of selected bidders.
  • Preparations for placing the subcontracts in due time prior to the mobilization.
  • Provides monthly updates of progress for the home office deliverables.
  • In charge of construction home office budget for the projects assigned to.
  • Coordinates all activities prior to mobilization on site (client ́s, subcontractor ́s and internal ́s).
  • Assures reporting from site.
  • Prepares erection manuals.
  • Prepares construction specifications.
Within a Proposal / Study

  • Prepares the construction schedule Level II for the area of construction.
  • Prepares the construction management manpower plan to be reviewed by the head of the department.
  • Providing inquiry documents for the construction scope to the estimation department (if needed).
  • Participates in the risk assessments for the proposal, if required.
  • Advises in construction / subcontracting strategy planning.
  • Reviews proposals document in regard to construction topics.
Requirements & Competences

  • Technical education, tradesman, "Meisterbrief" or higher degree
  • >7 years experience in construction related works
  • >5 years experience on a foreign industrial plant constructionsite
  • Experience as an area manager on an EPC project
  • Deep execution skills related to at least one discipline of construction works: e.g. Civil, Mechanical, E/I
  • Knowledge about EHS requirements on construction sites
  • Skills in quality requirements of industrial plants
  • Understanding of Controls Tools for Cost and Schedule
  • Planning and organizing
  • Founded skills in Contract & Claims management
  • Availability for assignments to foreign countries over several months
  • Good English language knowledge
  • Be able to slip into a senior construction engineer role on site
  • Knowledge of MS Project software or Primavera
  • Knowledge of AutoCad would be desirable
