What you will do:

Rumble is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer – CDN Operations who will be responsible for deploying and maintaining Content Delivery systems and platforms.

Job Description:

  • Implementing and maintaining multi-tier content delivery and content distribution platforms.
  • Planning, coordinating, automating, managing, and scaling content systems.
  • Testing and tuning hardware and open source software performance.
  • Troubleshooting during outage events and being on-call during rotations.
  • Documenting designs and mentoring other staff members.
  • Regularly proposing ideas and designs for expansion and resilience.
  • Testing new features to ensure that they work as intended.
  • Support CDN, Video, DNS, Security, and Cloud-based Operations
  • Evaluate, test, develop, implement, and support solutions to address a variety of business requirements.
  • Handle a daily queue of tickets.
  • Participate in and drive changes in accordance with change management practices.
  • Participate with implementation teams to integrate new designs into production with minimal impact on operations.
  • Directly interface and coordinate with other internal business groups and external partners.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Intermediate to expert level experience managing open source operating systems at scale.
  • Intermediate to expert level experience tuning kernels and drivers for performance.
  • Intermediate to expert level experience managing open source packages and libraries.
  • Intermediate level experience managing and maintaining containers and container images.
  • Intermediate level experience configuring open source reverse proxy and caching tools.
  • Intermediate level experience maintaining open source file systems and storage systems.
  • Intermediate level experience with orchestration and automation tools.
  • Experience with large scale internet infrastructure
  • Linux System Administration
  • Proficiency in scripting (Shell Scripting, Perl, Python)
  • Practical experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform)
  • Knowledge of Networking and Security

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience testing and compiling custom kernels.
  • Experience with open source automation tools.
  • Experience automating configuration lifecycles and rapid configuration updates.
  • Experience troubleshooting and configuring open source networking and network stacks.
  • Experience with CDN Operations
  • Experience with OTT or Video Delivery Operations
  • Knowledge of IPv6, DNS (servers and protocol), BGP, Anycast, Multicast
  • Experience Managing and Maintaining Container Clusters (Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Hardware Optimization & Kernel Tuning

Desired Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience working in systems engineering roles on open source systems.
  • 2+ years experience working in a service provider or cloud provider environment.
  • 1+ years experience working with automation.
