Key job responsibilities

Creating reliable, scalable, and high performance products requires exceptional technical expertise, a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science, and practical experience building large-scale distributed systems.

This person has thrived and succeeded in delivering high quality technology products/services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift fast.

A day in the life

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer who is results-oriented, data driven, innovative and passionate at creating new comprehensive customer engagement services/solutions.

You'll work on technologies such as such as Large Language Models (LLMs), GraphQL, Java, Spring and AWS to build the world's most innovative customer experience solutions.

You will have significant influence on our overall product strategy and overall architecture of the video-on-demand catalog systems that source and generate title information using ML and digital video understanding, including Prime Video's first catalog experimentation platform.

In partnership with your team, you will be responsible for changing the way our customers discover and choose movies in Prime Video.

About the team

Our team is a mix of Software Engineers, Applied Scientists and Product Managers working together in an experiment driven, agile development process.

You'll get to collaborate with teammates on distributed software solutions and get the chance to learn about the machine learning domain.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of noninternship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.

The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
