GSK is seeking a highly motivated scientist to join the multidisciplinary Encoded Technologies (ET) team. As a member of the ET Affinity Selections and Biophysics Group, you will support small molecule drug discovery programs across GSK with specific accountability for applying biophysics expertise and techniques in hit discovery and validation, and further developing platform capabilities. Additionally, you will represent the group providing biophysics expertise to cross-functional project teams.

The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with biophysics, chemical biology and/or protein biochemistry techniques (e.g., SPR, MST, DSF, affinity purification, alphaLISA, mass-spectrometry). Experience with targeted protein degradation, molecular glues, covalent probes, interrogation of cell lysates, membrane-bound proteins, and/or oligo therapeutics (e.g,. ASOs, AIMers) is a plus. This experience could be from an academic, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical industry setting. We seek a detail-oriented individual with a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, including good communication and organizational skills, a strong desire to succeed, and the ability to deliver on time.

· Deliver decision-making datasets in support of small molecule hit identification and validation programs

· Contribute to advancing the platform technology via evaluation of new equipment and/or development and optimization of new methodologies

· Become a part of the multidisciplinary Encoded Technologies team while working independently

· Interact with other biophysicists, biologists and chemists across multiple GSK R&D sites

· Contribute to data analysis and have a chance to further develop analytical skills

· Contribute to publications, presentations, and collaborations that enhance the visibility of the team

Why You?

Basic Qualifications.

· BS with 5 years experience or MS degree in biophysics, biochemistry, bioengineering, biology, or similar discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

· Self-motivated individual with good organizational skills and ability to effectively communicate experimental hypotheses, planning, and conclusions in a clear manner

· Ability to work flexibly within a team and in response to changes in strategic prioritization

· Experience in biophysical binding techniques, e.g., SPR (especially Carterra LSA), MST, nanoDSF, alphaLISA, trFRET, and/or other similar assays.
