General Summary of Position

MedStar Washington Hospital Center is hiring for an experienced Oncology Pharmacist to join our patient-focused team in Washington, DC as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist. Current Oncology PGY2 Residents are encouraged to apply

The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will be responsible for providing pharmaceutical care to hematology and oncology inpatients. They will work alongside the multi-disciplinary oncology care team to educate, monitor, and support patients throughout their care. The clinical specialist will also help develop and review evidence-based guidelines and order sets to ensure standardized, safe and effective treatment regimens. The pharmacist will also as a resource to the ambulatory infusion center to provide guidance on treatment regimens and quality improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college of pharmacy and residency, or Doctoral degree from an accredited college of pharmacy and residency required

Experience

  • 5-7 years of hospital experience (with at least 4 years in a specialized area) required, or completion of PGY-1 and PGY-2 pharmacy residency required, or completion of a PGY-1 plus 2 years of direct patient care experience in a specialized area required

Licenses and Certifications

  • PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist in the District of Columbia required
  • Board certification in area of specialty required Recent PGY-2 candidates will be allowed a 1 year grace period to obtain certification.
