POSITION SUMMARY

The Clinical Risk Manager facilitates clinical risk management activities at AtlantiCare Health System, which include (not be limited): use of the electronic incident reporting system (daily review/trending/follow-up reports); consulting with legal counsel (coordinated with director); managing and analyzing risk management data.


Responsibilities and activities also include:

loss prevention activities; providing risk management educational programs; complying with risk management related standards required by Joint Commission and other accrediting and regulatory agencies with the objective of promoting patient safety and loss prevention; enhancing quality care; and minimizing loss in order to prevent harm and protect the assets of the facility.

This position coordinates activities with the Clinical Risk Director while reviewing, co-formulating, and implementing policy and organizational changes. Partnerships sustained respective with leaders and stakeholders to integrate risk management with legal, quality management, and patient safety functions.


The Risk Manager participates with and facilitates activities such as risk management planning, risk assessments (of risk management topics and program), facilitation of deployment of changes, proactive evaluation of compliance, and evaluation of the effectiveness of mitigation activities.

This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service.

The Risk Manager further supports quality and organization efforts by participating or facilitating Joint Commission compliance, Performance Improvement Teams to complete root cause analyses, regulatory reporting, and councils and committees with influence on risk management and safety.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related health care field.
LICENSE/

CERTIFICATION:
Current NJ RN License or appropriate certification for healthcare profession required. CPHRM preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Five years in healthcare management experience required. Two or more years' experience in Risk Management/Quality Focus preferred. Knowledge of hospital operations and health care delivery systems required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills required and the ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel and demonstrates the ability to react under pressure and respond quickly and appropriately.

Also demonstrates the ability to work in a team

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

WORK ENVIRONMENT
