Network Capacity Forecasting (NCaF) team mission is to support AWS Networking teams with data-driven planning to build and maintain a cost-effective network.

We achieve this by creating services and platforms leveraging rigorous scientific modeling, state-of-the-art ML tools and software best practices.

Our services enable analytics, modeling, and forecasting of demands, including requirements from customers and services as well as network hardware and associated materials required.

Our platforms enable productization of ML enabled services across networking teams.

Key job responsibilities

As a member of the NCaF team, you'll support the development and management of AWS Network Traffic Forecasting services which requires continuous ML Ops and forecast accuracy improvements.

The ideal candidate will have an extensive background of research in ML and deep learning. We prefer candidates with experience in Machine learning, time series forecasting, and ML Operations. Familiarity with foundational models, and understanding of Cloud business will be a plus.

The candidate should be a strong communicator, able to describe scientifically rigorous work to business stakeholders of varying levels of technical sophistication.

Strong inter-personal and mentoring skills to develop applied science talent in the team is another important requirement.

The candidate will closely partner with the network planning teams and should be intensely curious about how the research is moving the needle for business.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application
  • Experience with SQL and an RDBMS (e.g., Oracle) or Data Warehouse
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, machine learning or equivalent quantitative field
  • Have publications at toptier peerreviewed conferences or journals
  • Experience in time series forecasting.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.

The base pay for this position ranges from $115,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
