Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Senior Property Claims Supervisor, you are an integral position within HCA Healthcare's Risk & Insurance department reporting directly to the Manager/Director of Property Claims. You will support the Insurance programs segment of the Risk & Insurance Department. You will assist the VP and Insurance team in an on-going effort to design and maintain an efficient, responsive customer oriented corporate insurance program. The primary role of your position will be to reduce claim cycle times and enhance accuracy of loss costs capture while overseeing HCA's property claims handling via coordination between HCA facility contacts, corporate functional areas and a team of Independent adjusters. In addition to claims handling you will analyze property risk exposure, participate in disaster preparedness and organization of pre-loss response strategy.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Proactively manage moderate severity commercial property claims including collaboration with Independent Adjusters, HCA Facilities, and integral corporate departments.
  • Engage with vendors, experts, and insurance staff to resolve claim variances.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage subrogation on claim files.
  • Evaluate Independent Adjuster performance and manage vendor relationships.
  • Coordinate with HCA Emergency Preparedness department to build strategy for potential incident and CAT response.
  • Monitor news and social media sources for potential impacts to HCA facilities.
  • Analyze loss trends and provide recommendations for risk avoidance and loss mitigation.
  • Assist with providing accurate and timely data enhancement on the property database with our broker and risk information management vendor(s).
  • Manage the ongoing data integrity efforts including the audits of various insurance database exposures
  • Manages the vendor scorecards as a means of maintaining third party insurance vendor relationships and participates in the broker and vendor selection process.
  • Assist the VP Insurance, AVP Insurance and Manager/Director of Property Claims with other responsibilities as needed.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Bachelors Degree is required
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial property claims is required
  • Excellent communication, organizational, computer and presentation skills is required
  • 5+ years of experience handling CAT claims is preferred
  • Strong experience working with contractors, experts, building consultants, contents vendors, environmental vendors, etc. is preferred
  • The job may require up to 25% travel.
