The ideal candidate will join our team to support the development of digital flood study and flood hazard data for FEMA under the Risk Mapping, Assessment, and Planning (Risk MAP) Production and Technical Services (PTS) program and help direct project teams, develop & manage project quality assurance, and supervise project managers, technical professionals, and other design staff including managing project workload and manpower forecasting. FEMA's Risk MAP program is the process used by FEMA to map the nation's flood risk by making Flood Insurance Rate Maps, or flood maps.

How will you contribute to the team?
Directs project team compliance with contract termsDevelops, communicates, and manages project quality assurance, administrative procedures, communication guidelines, and progress reporting requirementsMonitors schedules, billings, and reports while ensuring appropriate charging of manhours, costs, and expenses to projectsCommunicates project progress/status to senior management and alerts them of project production, quality control or financial performance problems.Coordinates communications between internal and external associates and clientMaintains frequent contact with clients to determine their respective needs and requirements, and serves subject matter expert (SME) as neededSupervises other project managers, technical professionals, and other design staff including managing project workload and manpower forecastingIdentifies new business opportunities for the firm, coordinates, and participates in project presentations to clients and other external groups, and promotes firms capabilities, marketing its services among existing and prospective clientsParticipates in project opportunity evaluation, consultant selection, and in the preparation of firm's qualification/experience statements
What will you contribute?
Bachelor's degree in field(s) of practice. Graduate degree desirable. Management coursework and/or MBA a plus. This level may be achieved with 8 years of experience in project production and technical professional activities, two of these working as a Sr. Technical Professional.Strong interpersonal skills; good public speaking ability; strong project financial management skills; knowledge of production support systems and personal computer proficiency.
Special Skills
Knowledge of the FEMA National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and/or various state floodplain mapping programs is desired. Knowledge of and experience with FEMA guidelines and standards for flood risk analysis and mapping activities under the FEMA Risk MAP Program is desired. Experience with FEMA flood study, DFIRM and FIS production including preliminary map preparation and the post preliminary processing due process workflow. Experience with ESRI ArcGIS software is desired. Knowledge of and experience with engineering modeling techniques for flood studies, including hydrologic analysis and hydraulics analysis (1D/2D) using HEC-RAS, SWMM, FLO-2D or other hydraulics software, is desired.
Professional Registrations
Professional Registration desired as either Project Management Professional (PMP), Geographic Information System Professional (GISP), and/or Professional Engineer (P.E.) is desired.
