SUMMARY

This position is responsible for applying the principles of accounting to analyze financial information, prepare financial reports, maintain accurate financial records (including appropriate subsidiary ledgers), in accordance with principles generally accepted in the United States of America (GAAP) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and regulatory guidelines for the bank.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Complies with and stays abreast of all policies and procedures, accounting standards, SEC and regulatory requirements as well as federal and state laws applicable to the job.
  2. Maintains the bank's financial records and reports in an up-to-date condition reflecting changes in the general ledger, in accordance with company policies and procedures. This includes reviewing and analyzing general ledger accounts to ensure accurate reporting of the financial activity of the bank.
  3. Maintains and develops various financial reports utilizing fully-customizable financial report writer, which supports user-definable attributes and many other features.
  4. Compiles SEC filings, including Annual Reports on Form 10-K, quarterly reports on Form 10-Q, 8-K and other SEC filings in an accurate and timely manner.
  5. Prepares quarterly earnings release materials
  6. Reviews the detailed Xtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) tagging of financial statements and footnotes.
  7. Assists in the ongoing monitoring and interpretation of new SEC/GAAP, Regulatory pronouncements, and implement the accounting treatments.
  8. Assists with developing other ad hoc pro forma reports. Provide support on various special projects.
  9. Other duties as assigned by the Controller and/or Assistant Controller.
  10. Provides, presents and promotes The Citizens Experience to all external and internal customers.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Business, Accounting, Finance, from a four-year college/university; 3 - 5 year's of comparable finance/accounting experience in the financial services industry in a fast paced environment; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong computer skills with Microsoft Office applications. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is preferred.
