Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Cath Lab- UM Shore Regional Health
Now hiring a full time RN to join the dedicated Cath Lab team at Shore Regional Hospital. The Cardiac Cath Lab is a 24/7 operation and performs dozens of lifesaving procedures each day. Candidates with prior work experience in ER or Critical Care adapt very well to this work environment.
The work schedule for this role will consist of FOUR 10-hour shifts; 1 day off.

Call hours are 5:30pm to 7am and rotating On-Call weekends 7am to 7pm (Saturday and Sunday) 9-12 shifts per month are on call.

We offer an on-call suite at our Cambridge location, which is just minutes from Easton

This role is considered the minimum role for all nurses who have greater than 12 months experience.

Provides and coordinates independent care to patients within a clinical specialty as a fully effective and participative member of the multidisciplinary patient care services team.

Utilizes the institution's care delivery and professional practice models as the frame of reference for practicing as a professional nurse.

Participates in activities to develop own practice, and to support group practice goals at the unit level.

Is accountable to patient, family and team members for care provided and to the nurse manager for totality of work performance.

Is accountable to hold to the Service Standards and to the Nursing Mission, Vision and Values.

Engaged in advancing own practice.
Responsible for maintaining competencies required for that patient care setting; focus on advancing own professional development.
Attends unit based staff development independently.
Demonstrates the ability to serve as a trained preceptor and coach's new nurse and students.
Contributes to developing/evaluating unit based orientation and other education activities.
Contributes to nursing support personnel skills and development.
Completes CE's on an annual basis based on facility minimum requirements.

Service/Quality:


Understands and contributes to unit-based outcomes associated with National Hospital Quality Measures (NDNQI), Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators, and Facility Annual Operational Plan.

Contributes to and endorses some or all elements of research/EBP/QI.

Patient Safety

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:


Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required.

Current AHA BLS certification required.

Must meet all unit specific certification requirements:
(PALS, ACLS, NRP). More than 12 months nursing experience. Solid knowledge and clinical skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills are required.
Meets licensing requirements to practice registered nursing in the State of Maryland. Must meet all applicable federal, state, and local professional requirements.

The employee in this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on the age of the patients served.

He/she must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, to interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the necessary care as described in the department's policies and procedures.
