Inpatient Nurse Practitioner, Stem Cell Transplant

Our research engine, Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, is the only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center in the Washington, D.C. region.
This position is full-time (1.0FTE) and solely in the inpatient setting, with no call or weeknight responsibilities. Regular work schedule includes daytime, weekend support. Round with physicians daily and stay on the unit to execute orders, respond to nursing care needs, and provide basic support to the stem cell transplant and cellular immunotherapy program. Work with a specialized group of four malignant hematologists and two bone marrow transplant physicians. The bone marrow treatment service is primary admitting so the nurse practitioner would be managing inpatient care.
The NP in this role will be responsible for writing follow-up/subsequent chemotherapy orders, performing bone marrow biopsies. The ideal candidate will have a chemotherapy card and inpatient experience as an advanced practice provider. New graduates will be considered if they have a strong desire to work in the cutting-edge field of stem cell transplant and cellular immunotherapy. Experienced preferred in bone marrow biopsies, but not required. Interested candidates will also have thorough documentation skills, great work ethic and be able to work autonomously while being connected regularly with administrative and physician support.
