Position Specific Description

This position is part of the growing Renewable Fuels Team within NextEra Energy's Power Generation Division. The Lead Project Manager will manage a portfolio of large-to-medium scale technical projects supporting new construction and existing assets. This role will be based in Houston, Texas.

Preferred Qualifications-

  • Working experience as a technical project manager on a variety of large-to-medium scale projects of high complexity
  • Strong engineering background with a solid understanding of energy or chemical process development. Specific experience with Landfill Gas Treatment or Coal Mine Methane treatment is a plus.
  • Experienced at interfacing with multi-disciplinary teams in executing assigned projects (i.e., Originations, Development, Permitting, HS&E, Business management, Operations, Construction, Commissioning and Operations)
  • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, and subcontracting)
  • Familiarity with power and gas industry standards and equipments
  • Comfortable providing engineering support to a midstream processing facility.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversees a variety of large-scale projects of high complexity
  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports
  • Secures required resources and uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks and changes
  • Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis
  • Identifies issues and challenges, measures and validates results, and implements solutions
  • Provides expert information to internal and external clients on complex issues
  • Creates and communicates presentation materials for report out and updates with various levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Conducts external research and stays abreast of new developments or innovative advancements pertaining to the project
  • Provides coaching, leadership and direction to project team
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 6+ years
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
