As a member of the Enterprise Web Development Team, the Senior Developer will work on a team of experienced developers on enterprise level web applications.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in an IT field preferred.
  • Shown an aptitude for working in a quickly changing environment, while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability working independently and collaboratively to solve complex problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to incorporate new technologies and processes into existing systems.
  • Strong command of Java, or similar programming language with 5+ years of application development experience.
  • Experience with front end development language (Angular, React)
  • Experience with upgrading existing Java based applications
  • Experience with ticketing and bug tracking systems, such as JIRA.
  • Experience with continuous automation tools, such as Jenkins.

Responsibilities

  • Providing guidance for the architectural planning for Scholastic eCommerce applications
  • Implementing solutions that align with industry best practices
  • Creating technical literature for solutions that are implemented
  • Providing process improvements for the development workflow
  • Suggesting improvements to improve security model
  • Be on new enhancement projects as a development lead and also assist with support tickets where needed
  • Perform code review and analysis for other team members
  • Be able to write and understand SQL and the database tier
  • Be able to understand complex data integrations (SSIS, DTS packages, Oracle to SQL Server stored procedures)
  • Communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical peers
