Staff organic to the mission applications group have skills specifically targeting transition of technology to operational use, including program management, integration engineering at customer sites, DevSecOps, and business development with a deep understanding of missions and technology needs for national security.

  • Acting as a point person with the corporate STR IT organization to ensure that infrastructure toolsets are configured, maintained, reliable, and in compliance with Department of Defense standards
  • Advocating for and educating software engineers on DevOps fundamentals while helping to implement professional, commercial software development processes

This role will take advantage of STR's flexible, hybrid environment – when the work does not require use of STR's facilities (based out of Woburn, MA or Arlington, VA), you are welcome to work remotely up to 50% of the time.

Who You Are:

  • 2+ years relevant experience
  • Experience with all relevant technologies including:
    • CI/CD tools and pipeline automation
    • Cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and automated provisioning tools (such as Ansible, Chef, TerraForm)
    • Containerization technologies such as Docker and Podm
Organized, detail-oriented, and with an ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Demonstrated experience as an effective communicator to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance, for which US citizenship is needed by the US Government

Even Better:

  • MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field
  • Experience in:
    • Full web-service stack, including databases, logging, and monitoring
    • Project tracking tools such as Jira
    • Deploying and maintaining artifact repositories (such as Nexus, Artifactory)
    • Deploying and configuring static and dynamic code analysis tools (such as SonarQube, Coverity)
    • Kubernetes management solutions such as EKS and Rancher, along with deploying and monitoring Kubernetes clusters and pod configurations
    • Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM software development frameworks
    • Security+ Certification
