EBS delivers high-performing virtualized storage for Amazon Web Services.

Our team's software runs on all of Amazon's compute instance platforms, and we are the first point of contact with a customer's I/O request.

We are looking for engineers to own the connectivity and performance experience of millions of Amazon customers.

We develop drivers and user-space processes running on PCI-based offload cards that are developed in-house at Amazon. We are a team that is critical to the launch and operation of every EC2 product.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of noninternship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience with multithreaded concurrent processing
  • Experience operating enterprisescale distributed systems
  • Background with scalable storage solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the design and implementations of largescale projects
  • Demonstrated ability to influence other teams on complex projects
  • Demonstrated ability to solve highly ambiguous problems
  • Background with Embedded systems, Device Drivers or Firmware
  • Experience with Networking and/or Storage Domains

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.

The base pay for this position ranges from $134,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company.
