The team manages all aspects of custom reporting and analytics projects and advises on reporting capabilities available through our technology platform and API. The Business Intelligence and Data Operations team is the ideal place for someone who thrives on working in a fast-paced growth environment, has a passion for working with data and technology, and is not afraid to take on some of the most complex challenges that Basis has to offer.

The Senior Business Analyst will directly impact the growth of the business by helping define business intelligence solutions for teams across Basis. You will contribute by:

  • Investigating business problems and opportunities, and gathering requirements specifying required changes to business intelligence solutions, data, and processes.
  • Utilizing business knowledge and experience to assess and advise on the feasibility and relevance of proposed data and reporting options for business and technical change.
  • Selecting and applying the use of data modelling and analysis techniques, methods, and standards in an informed and proficient way.
  • Planning, arranging, and facilitating meetings and workshops with business stakeholders throughout the business change and software development lifecycles.
  • Taking responsibility for the management of stakeholder relationships across different levels of seniority.
  • Supporting the delivery of business intelligence solutions, such as dashboards and reports, through the identification and definition of business and technical options that will address the business objectives and requirements, and the analysis of the costs, benefits, risks and impacts for each option.
  • Writing clear and thorough documentation for projects covering business problems, high-level solutions, detailed requirements, and production BI dashboards and reports.
  • Working with solutions architects, project managers, other business analysts, developers, and business stakeholders on the planning of solutions, testing and timelines.
  • Presenting requirements to developers clearly communicating specifics in technical terminology.
  • Assist business stakeholders in defining acceptance tests.
  • Defining and rolling out required training for delivered BI solutions to promote adoption.
  • Guiding other team members on best practices, standards, and expectations at each stage of an initiative and project.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Experience writing requirements, specifying testing scenarios, validating solutions, and ensuring stakeholder awareness and involvement in the acceptance process.
  • Skilled in a variety of business analysis techniques (e.g. modelling data structures, data flow, processes).
  • Experience effectively managing stakeholder relationships and collaborating with cross-functional teams to get things done.
  • Excellent communicator with an ability to clearly explain complex subjects to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and adapt communication to all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with entire development and project life cycles (SLDC) and doing so in a fast-paced workplace.
  • Resourceful and self-reliant; a strong self-teacher with a passion for learning.
  • Passionate about problem-solving and engaging the team to arrive at a solution.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Relational Databases including SQL.

BONUS POINTS

  • Knowledge of the digital advertising industry (e.g. AdWords, DSP, ad serving, media buying).
  • Have experience as a data analyst, engineer, or data visualization specialist.
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence approaches (e.g., Kimball methods).
