Accounting Team Lead

As Accounting Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in driving our organization's financial strategy, identifying and leading initiatives for revenue growth, and implementing cost-cutting measures across all departments. You will act as a bridge between the finance department and other units, working closely with the Director of Finance to split strategic responsibilities while directly working within the finance and accounting team to achieve our financial goals.
Key Responsibilities:
· Solid knowledge of month-end and year-end close, including cost allocations, accruals, and reclassifications
· Demonstrated expertise in revenue recognition, forecasting, and analysis, with a strong track record of driving revenue growth and optimizing financial strategies to support business objectives
· Support CFO and Director of Finance with ad hoc projects
· Assist other supervisors or their team members with their duties when needed
· Work with Operations and collaborate with other groups to resolve any client issues and ensure billing accuracy
· Month-end close responsibilities that include key product reconciliations and variance analysis on select accounts
· Various post-close reporting that feeds into business KPIs
· Assist in compiling data for tax filings and audit requests
· Enhancing existing processes related to client billing and internal reporting
· Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, maintaining impeccable accuracy in all financial and accounting activities.
· Manage annual pricing strategies, including client communications and billing updates.
· Manage client terminations and go-lives
· Train and mentor our staff accountants, overseeing their work and contributing to their professional development.
· Oversee and ensure the accurate and timely reconciliation of trust accounts, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions to maintain the integrity of financial records.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. A Master's degree or CPA is highly desirable.
· Proven experience in project management within a finance and accounting context.
· Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to identify and implement efficiency improvements.
· Superior communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of working effectively with the Director of Finance, team members, and cross-functional teams.
· Proficiency in financial software and systems, including advanced Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Online skills.
· Payroll tax experience preferred.
