The role you'll contribute:

The Executive Director, Divisional Supply Chain Operations, is the central Supply Chain liaison for the division, responsible for collaborating with the Vice President, System Supply Chain Operations, market/region leadership, Regional Directors and customers, to design and execute in alignment with broader system approaches and cost effective supply chain strategies for the division. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide leadership for the division's overall supply chain operations, develop and retain talent of the regional directors and facility directors of supply chain, and align system best practices across the division. This role is responsible for engaging with key market executives to strengthen the relationships among supply chain, clinical and non-clinical operations, and finance to facilitate and promote the delivery of lowest total cost of supplies, services and equipment while supporting clinical, functional, operational, and quality criteria necessary to fulfill our mission.

The value you'll bring to the team:

  • Establish professional, effective relationships with executives, physicians, clinicians, and other key leaders in the division to ensure good communication, a feedback loop, gathering voice of the customer, and creating collaboration for executing projects.
  • Directly manage all Regional Directors and others assigned within the division.
  • Perform management functions of goal setting, performance reviews, employee relations, training, and career development for direct reports.
  • Provide leadership in supply chain workforce development and planning, supporting diversity, succession planning, and training as needed across the division and in collaboration with corporate.
  • Create opportunities for collaboration across facilities within the division and the system and serve as a conduit between facilities, the regions, the division and corporate to execute initiatives successfully.
  • Work closely with VP, System Supply Chain Operations, and market/region CFOs to set strategy and goals for savings and operations within the division that are aligned with corporate initiatives.
  • Provide strategic input and direction to support capital projects from proposal through deployment of assets for the division, identifying opportunities for bulk purchases.
  • Provide reporting to the division leadership at appropriate intervals sharing progress in savings and operations goals and targets.
  • Analyze operations and non-labor expenses and provide direction and support for achieving operational excellence as evidenced by achieving top benchmark scores for system and industry comparisons, implementing, and aligning system best practices, and lowering costs of supplies and services.
  • Partner with the Director of Value Analysis around processes which should include new product introduction, utilization review, contract compliance, and standardization of products all the while aligning with system contracts and commitments.
  • Maximize the value of purchased services through alignment with system processes and efforts to support evaluation of use, setting and measuring metrics, and leveraging relationships to ensure quality and lowest cost of services.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

  • Bachelors' degree in Business Management, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 5 years supply chain or related hospital operations experience
  • 4 years leadership experience

OR

  • 10 years supply chain or related hospital operations experience
  • 4 years leadership experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • Masters' degree strongly preferred

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

  • Six Sigma or LEAN Certification
  • CMRP (Certified Materials Resource Professional)
