About the Role:

The Maintenance Technician will handle a variety of tasks including work orders, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and appliance repairs, along with exterior maintenance duties. Maintaining the property's appearance to a high standard is crucial, which involves the upkeep of grounds, amenities, building exteriors, leasing office, parking lots, and other community structures. The ideal candidate will excel in multitasking while delivering top-notch customer service. Being adaptable is key as each day can bring new challenges, including responding to after-hour emergencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair issues in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, carpentry, flooring, hardware accessories, painting, etc.
  • Uphold customer service standards, promptly responding to resident requests and addressing problems
  • Complete assigned service requests and repairs efficiently and safely
  • Ensure vacant apartment homes are ready for rent promptly
  • Properly handle new equipment and follow safety procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness of grounds and common areas
  • Perform grounds maintenance tasks such as debris removal and cleaning
  • May be assigned other duties as needed

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum of two (2) years relevant maintenance experience or equivalent handyman experience
  • Previous on-call and weekend service experience
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience in electrical and appliance repairs
  • Experience as a janitor/porter
  • Capable of handling heavy equipment and machinery
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets
  • Must have own transportation and valid driver's license
  • Background check and drug screening required
