About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. You will be the second dev ops hire at Chorus Innovations and given the opportunity to shape the dev ops culture here. You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our healthcare technology platform. As we are currently rebuilding the current platform leveraging various AWS services (Amplify, AppSync, Cognito, etc), we are looking for a self-starter who can implement best practices for continuous integration and delivery.


Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Management: Design, setup, maintain the AWS production environment infrastructure for our new platform. Develop an understanding of our current production infrastructure and maintain our current service levels.
  • Infrastructure automation: Leverage AWS CloudFormation and/or Terraform to build and maintain fully automated environments, adhering to the principle of Infrastructure as code (Iac).
  • CI/CD Implementation and Management: Design and implement a robust CI/CD pipeline. Improve existing CI/CD processes and automate workflows.
  • Monitoring & Alerting: Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify infrastructure issues and proactive incidence management.
  • Software Release Management & Automation: Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of software releases across various environments, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.Security & Compliance: Form a strong partnership with our information security team and development team to mitigate potential vulnerabilities and solve challenging cloud infrastructure security problems.
  • Disaster Recovery and High Availability: Design and implement a disaster recovery plan and backup solutions to guarantee system resilience. Test recovery procedures regularly to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Collaborate with development, infosec, product, and QA teams to drive continuous improvement in our processes.
  • Problem Solving: Act as a key player in troubleshooting and resolving issues in the development and production environments.


Qualifications and Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, with a significant part focused on AWS environments
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC), preferably with AWS CloudFormation
  • Fluency with Devops concerns such as source control, builds, deployments, networking, scaling, and monitoring.
  • Strong experience configuring and monitoring a secure and compliant system, preferably in the healthcare space, balancing security and compliance with agility and speed.
  • Deep understanding of version control systems (Git) and code branching strategies.
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment systems (CI/CD).
  • Proven experience driving improvements in uptime, quality, automation, and consistency in engineering teams and processes
  • Would be great to have experience working in a security framework-aligned environment (HIPAA, SOC2, NIST

Base Salary: $140,000/year - $170,000/year

Total compensation package also includes performance bonus and stock options
