Providing services for adults, children, and families with Medicaid coverage, Greater Lakes offers 6 convenient mental health care locations including a 16-bed inpatient facility covering medically necessary voluntary and involuntary services to adults. Our experienced teams, veteran nurses, and robust training plans are designed to support your success and growth in facilitating recovery-oriented and trauma-informed treatment.

Per Diem position, variable shift

Position Summary Residential Counselors assist adults in BHN residential programs to develop their skills for recovery and wellness. Focuses on helping residents attain or resume their capacity for independent living, providing hope and motivation, as residents heal and develop resiliency.

Responsibilities

  • Provides counseling to help residents re-establish self-identity, sense of purpose and meaning in their lives, which may include developing plans for work, school, and/or volunteering, and making community connections.
  • Helps residents develop life skills, such as cooking, cleaning, money management, social skills and knowledge of symptoms and medications.
  • Creates treatment plans and discharge planning documents and delivers/reviews with residents
  • Conducts individual and group counseling sessions Requirements
    • AA degree in social services or related field preferred
    • One (1) year of experience working with mentally ill consumers in a residential setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Must be eligible to become a WA State Agency Affiliated Counselor
    • CPR and First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire into position Pay and Benefit Expectations We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $ $26.72 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
