Established for over 90 years, R.D. Bitzer Co., Inc. is a leading distributor of quality commercial hydronic HVAC equipment in eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. We service contractors, engineers, and wholesalers in our area from project design to equipment start-up.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with proven presentation skills and the ability to learn technical information and deliver it to project engineers in the form of lunch & learn presentations, equipment selections, and design assistance. As a Sales Engineer, you will be focused on developing new business within an assigned territory as well as retaining and developing business with existing customers. You will build excellent client relationships and drive spec results. Use your technical expertise to help specifying engineers select the right equipment for the job, review plans, and troubleshoot installed systems. Autonomy, drive, and desire to win are paramount.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prospect and develop relationships with new and existing engineers & building owners. Gain the trust of specifying engineers so they are comfortable using our equipment represented by R.D. Bitzer Co., Inc. on their projects.
- Assist and support engineers with product selections, system design, and after-installation support.
- Regularly travel to perform site surveys and meetings with specifying engineers to determine needs and solutions, and obtain detailed information for equipment selections and quotes. Be willing to troubleshoot hydronic systems and offer suggestions to improve their performance.
- Possess and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the HVAC industry and product lines presented by the company. Emphasis on boiler and heat pump knowledge.
Skills and Qualifications:
- BS degree in Engineering (required)
- Previous outside sales experience with manufactured equipment or five years experience as a specifying engineer is preferred
- Strong professional communication and presentation skills
- Innovative approach to problem-solving and the ability to thrive in a results-based environment.
- Autonomous, self-sufficient, organized, and efficient.
- Mechanical/technical aptitude required
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Must have a valid driver's license, reliable automobile transportation and current auto insurance

In return for experience and results, R.D. Bitzer Co., Inc. provides competitive compensation including an attractive base salary, profit sharing, and insurance plans.
