Job Title: Board Operator – ISBL
Location: Brownsville, TX (Relocation Packages available)
Job Summary
The Board Operator – ISBL’s primary responsibility is to ensure all Distributed Control System (DCS) operations within ISBL sections are conducted safely and efficiently, adhering to operational and integrity limits specified in the Master Alarm Database (MADB). The Board Operator monitors DCS parameters, anticipates deviations in accordance with operational management standards, and executes safe startup, shutdown, and emergency procedures. This role involves collaboration with maintenance and support teams to ensure optimal facility reliability, availability, and utilization.
The Board Operator will work closely with various stakeholders, including Maintenance, Engineers, HSSE, contractors, and vendors, requiring leadership, HSSE, and soft skills-specific training.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with ISBL operators, providing guidance on critical tasks and attentively considering their observations and feedback. Coordinate seamlessly with other board operators to ensure smooth control of the entire facility.
- Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards by monitoring plant equipment, identifying changes to equipment health, and communicating concerns to Control Room Supervisors.
- Execute approved process adjustments within design parameters to mitigate risks or optimize operations, escalating constraints to Control Room Supervisors as necessary.
- Adhere to startup and shutdown schedules, considering maintenance activities, equipment availability, and overall safety. Create and review work orders for quality and accuracy.
- Review and recommend improvements to operating and maintenance procedures, collaborating with engineering and optimization teams to enhance plant performance.
- Utilize rigorous HSSE risk assessments and processes to ensure the safety, security, and integrity of process systems and assets.
- Monitor ISBL plant operating parameters on the DCS, identifying opportunities for improvement or risks related to process deviations and equipment abnormalities.
- Coordinate operations with third parties for power delivery, feed gas supply, and LNG/condensate loading activities.
- Participate in emergency response drills, training, and execution of the Emergency Response Plan.
- Support multidisciplinary teams in diagnosing and troubleshooting process and maintenance issues, incorporating lessons learned into practices.
- Work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required, with flexibility for longer hours during commissioning, startup/shutdown, and turnaround activities.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Qualified board operator for LNG liquefaction processes at a large-scale facility.
- 5 years of production operations experience at a large-scale LNG facility.
- Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
- Strong time management and communication skills.
- Adaptability to dynamic work environments with shifting deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Requirements:
- 2 years of board operator experience at a large-scale LNG facility using APCI-C3/MR technology. 5 years of production operations experience at a large-scale LNG facility using APCI-C3/MR technology.
- Experience in LNG control room operations during startup and commissioning at a large-scale facility.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Overnight shift premium: $1.50 per hour.
- Holiday pay (time off): 8 hours paid for all company holidays, even if not scheduled to work.
- Worked holiday premium: 1.5x pay for hours worked on a company holiday.
- Overtime policy: Overtime applies for hours over 40 per week (no daily OT over 8 hours).
- Call-in pay: 1.5x rate with advance notice or 2.0x rate with short notice.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Operates in a complex construction environment, both in control rooms and in the field under various weather conditions.
- Must be able to wear necessary PPE and travel to muster points during emergencies.
- Clear communication via radio, phone, and verbal methods is essential.
