The ideal candidate will support the full scope of Human Resources responsibilities and partner with the organization on strategic initiatives. They will maintain and enhance the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating human resources policies, programs, and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and Onboard new hires Conduct performance management and provide feedback
  • Manage Payroll and benefits for employees
  • Manage day to day HR operations
  • Strong with Federal, State, and local compliance
  • Benefits Administration knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of Payroll, Labor/Employment Law (compliance)
  • Lead the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, coordinating interviews, and onboarding for new employees.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners (job boards, universities, recruitment agencies)
  • Manage employee training programs, including leadership development, skills training, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives
  • Provide support and guidance to managers on performance management best practices, goal-setting, and performance improvement plans
  • Plan and execute employee engagement initiatives, including staff events, team-building activities, and wellness programs.
  • Partner with leadership to assess employee satisfaction and retention, using surveys and feedback tools to drive improvements.
  • Work collaboratively with the Manager overseeing benefits and compliance to ensure seamless HR operations.

Requirements:

  • Looking for 6+ years HR experience, including 1+ at the HR Manager level and expertise in employee engagement, performance management, talent acquisition and culture building
  • Strong self-starter who takes initiative
  • Experience working in the social justice nonprofit sector strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of DEI principles and their application in HR strategies.
  • Proven ability to lead training and development programs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
