Associate Scientist

Kelly Science is seeking an Associate Scientist for a growing client located in Warminster, PA.

Pay: $25-27.50/hour

Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm

Employment Type: Full Time; Temp-to-hire

Summary:

As an Associate Scientist within the Research & Development department, you will be responsible for performing fermentation protocols while integrating and interpreting fermentation results among shake flask, lab-scale, pilot-scale, and commercial-scale fermentation systems.

Job Duties Include:

• Conducting a variety of fermentation protocols using shake flask, lab-scale, and pilot-scale and commercial-scale fermentation systems, under the supervision of lead scientist, with detailed written instructions.
• Developing and optimizing fermentation protocols for new products.
• Collaborating in design and execution of experiments.
• Formulating media and buffers.
• Maintaining and recording data clearly and precisely
• Generating and completing batch records and compliance documentation in an accurate and timely manner
• Conducting all work in strict compliance with all applicable safety requirements, containment requirements, and standard operating practices (SOPs)
• Performing calibration, minor maintenance work and mechanical upkeep
• Maintaining the inventory of consumables and order as required
• Troubleshooting issues in real-time. Notify supervisor and coordinate with additional personnel as needed.

Qualifications:

• Education:

Bachelors degree in Molecular Biology, Biological Sciences, or a related scientific field AND 1 year of relevant experience OR Masters degree in Molecular Biology, Biological Sciences ,or a related scientific field

• Strong knowledge of SDS-PAGE, E.coli protein development and optimization, fermenter & shakers and utilizing aseptic technique required, Hands-on experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to perform dimensional analysis calculations including concentrations, dilutions, and recipe scale-up/down.
